Dzongkar Choede is a living monastic community of more than 300 monks. Alongside study, prayer and ritual, the monastery sustains the practical structures that make that life possible — Buddhist education, a western-style school, and care for the health of the Sangha.

The monastery is shaped by a daily rhythm of prayer, study, debate, ritual, work, and shared responsibility. Young monks are formed through Buddhist philosophy, logic, debate, meditation, and the traditional ritual arts, while a western-style school teaches languages, mathematics, history, and computer studies alongside their monastic training.
None of this happens without care for the people carrying it forward. The monastery's Health Clinic looks after the daily wellbeing of the Sangha, so that the community's study and practice can continue on a foundation of health and stability.
